Any Migraine Sufferers Out There???
I had my TAH/BSOP on Nov. 30. Since the birth of my daughter nine years ago (and never once before surprisingly!)I have been a periodic migraine sufferer. I was wondering if any Sisters had any input regarding their migraine attacks after their surgery?? Has it gotten better? Stayed the same? Gotton worse? Any Sisters in the medical profession who have input are welcome to respond, too!! For a while there I thought I might be migraine free again, then on Christmas Eve POW! BAM! OUCH! I got one.
As always, thanks for your input!

Any Migraine Sufferers Out There???
I haven't experienced any migrane's but Doc put me on Bellergal for Hot Flashes when I came out of the hospital until I can take estrogen 1/5/01. Bellergal from my understanding is given to patients for migranes. You might as your Doc. Good Luck
TAH on 11/3

Any Migraine Sufferers Out There???
Dear FS,
I have been a long-time migrane sufferer. Since my TVH Nov.1 I have had a few head aches, but none that would classify as a migrane. In this respect, I'm in heaven. Used to have migranes that would last three or four days every month. Sometimes I would have this type of migrane twice a month.
Hope your's ease up.

Any Migraine Sufferers Out There???
I too was a migraine sufferer. I had a hyst in 3/2000, and haven't had a migraine since. Less headaches too.
Hoping the same for you.

Any Migraine Sufferers Out There???
FS:
The migrain headaches are about the same as before and after surgery.
The only thing that I notice that is different is that I seem to have pretty much dailey brain fog now. I had my TAH/BSO on 11/13 due to fibroid tumor and anemia. Two weeks after my surgery I was put on Premarin .625

Any Migraine Sufferers Out There???
Oh my goodness! I can't believe how many sisters have migraines also. I have suffered with them since I first started having periods. Only recently they became so severe and about every two weeks. I would throw up at work and try and make it till I could get home and hit the bed for the night. Told GYN and she told me it was easier to try and medicate than to balance my hormones. So I took drugs and tried to stick it out until the last one scared me so bad that I didn't think I was going to drive myself home from work (also ended up in the emerg. room). I had many problems with paps, bleeding, etc. but I must say that my main reason for my TVH was the migraines. I decided to keep ovaries hoping that my hormones would balance out after the surgery. I'm now 2 weeks post op and Thank God no signs of migraines. Now my next thoughts are how to help my twin daughters (20 yrs. old) deal with them. They both (on BCP)get migraines every month. We are trying natural hormones with extra magnesium, vitamin B-6, Vitamin B-12, and Calcium. In my research have found that they are suppose to help with migraines. I feel so sorry for you. I pray that you find some help for you migraines. I missed out on so many things due to migraines and hope that I never have to go through that part ever again !!!
Sending positive thoughts to you.

I appreciate your responses!
Until you suffer from the horrible head pain, until you realize how everyday lights, sounds and smells add to this horrific pain, and until you top it all off by throwing up, you just don't appreciate the agony of migraines until you experience them. I guess we could say that misery loves company, but really, knowing I'm not the Lone Ranger has really eased my mind in this migraine regard. I don't know if there is a migraine/hormonal connection, but I suspect there might be.
I certainly appreciate all of your input!

Any Migraine Sufferers Out There???
Hey ladies.
Migraines are the pits. It was refreshing to hear that so many of you are having fewer to none now post-op.
They run in my family. I've had them since puberty. In fact, seems like some part of my head hurts nearly everyday. But the true migraines always came with my period. Hopefully being BCP free will help. Ive only had 2 post-op.
DRUG INFO: Until recently I used Wigraine to ease my migraine, but Wigraine is being discontinued due to side effects. Both Midrin and Imitrex do nothing for me. BUT... I used Maxalt (of the same class as Imitrex) on the last two episodes and wow...they went away completely. I didn't have any side effects from it either.
Forgive me, if I sound like a druggie. But hey, you guys know ---- when you have migraine you'd do just about anything to make it stop.
