Question - Prolapse after going off HRT? Prolapse after going off HRT?

I had a total hx (ovaries, tubes, uterus) 6 years ago and was on Premarin 1.25 then .625 and now totally off for about 3 months.

The last week has brought a feeling of pressure, frequent urination, and overall feeling of discomfort. I went to doctor thinking is was an UTI, but she suspects prolapse.

I have done a little reading about HRT as it relates to prolapse and was wondering if anyone can tell me if going back on the Premarin will help?

I am 40 and was tired of taking the Premarin. Now of course the hot flashes are a killer but I was determined to stick it out until this prolapse issue came about.

Thanks for any input.

Fan Me Please, I'm hot again.

Prolapse after going off HRT?

Hi FanMe Sorry you're having to deal with a possible prolapse now. May I ask, what was the reason you came off your HRT?

Have you considered trying a low dose bio-identical HRT, like a patch? That, in combination with some form of vaginal estrogen, and kegel exercises properly and regularly done, can indeed help with vaginal vault or bladder prolapse if it's caught early enough.

What does your DR say?

Prolapse after going off HRT?

I went off HRT because I started getting worried about all the media hype surrounding it's use. I also have other medical problems and was taking eight different prescription pills, using a couple of inhalers and nasal spray. I just decided to cut out the meds that were what I considered the least necessary. Based on the possiblity of a prolapse I am now second guessing that decision.

I talk to the doctor tomorrow and will definitely ask about alternatives to the Premarin pill. I also did some reading on the vaginal cream, so it seems there are things I can try.

I was just wondering if going back on HRT of any type, would actually help. I guess catching it early is the key.

Thanks for your reply!
