posterior repair

I am about 18 months post-hyst. I also had a posterior repair for rectocyle. (sp)?
The vagina did not heal well. I sometimes feel it will tear when I have a bowel movement. Needless to say, intercourse is miserable. My nurse practitioner says things do not look normal. She ordered estrogen fem tabs. Has anyone else had such a miserable problem? If so, what did you do? I am afraid more surgery will make it worse. I am so sad about this.

posterior repair

Hi rede,

I had rectocele repair and it did seem like it took forever for all of it to heal inside.

I just have dryness now and I use Estrace vaginal cream from my gyn. It has helped a lot and I don't have any problem.

It sometimes takes a week or two to get the tissues healed, maybe longer depending on individual. How long have you been on your med? Give it a chance and if that doesn't work, then get back to dr. The medications are all a little different. I hear Premarin vaginal cream is the strongest, and may work the best for the unhealed tissues in there.

I am sorry you are having this trouble. I hope your medicine works with a little time and you get to feeling more comfortable. It sounds like you are pretty miserable right now.
