staples removed today

I am 6 days post LAVH and I had my staples removed. I had 10 of them. I was really nervous about it thinking it would hurt, but it did not hurt at all. I could hardly tell she was removing them. So...that was good, but I made them check my urine because I have been having some pain/pressure when I pee. Sure enough, I have an early UTI. I am so glad I had them check it. I would hate for it to have gotten worse. Also, got pathology results...everything good!! I still go in next week for another check up to see how things are healing. I feel really good though. Today is the first day I have gone anywhere. I have not felt like going before today. And, I only went to Dr and to my mom's house. So it was not strenuous. Also I did not drive. I started taking ibuprofen for pain instead of Darvicet. Things are starting to look up. Hope things continue to go well.

Nice to have those staples out!! I am 4 weeks post op and when I went to have my staples removed in 6 days I was very worried. I have pulled staples from paper and thought this can not be easy but that little gadget they use is so cool didn't hurt a bit. My Doctor only took half out that day and took the remaining 9 out 4 days later. I had 17 staples in total. My incision was horizontal and is healing so nicely. But swelly belly is amazing. Thank goodness for this sight or I would be panicing about the bulge. Everyday gets better and better. Look after yourself and follow all the rules. You will be feeling yourself in no time.
