Immune System
Hi -
My surgery was back in July but I have found that the procedure has taken a toll on my body as well as my immune system.
Since July - I have had frequent colds and am now fighting an ear infection. My doc says that everyone is different but sometimes the trauma of the surgery does effect everyone differently and that I should see a major difference when I reach the 8 month to a year timeframe.
Has anyone else had similar problems - I would really like to not feel like I'm the only one with this.
I've been back to work since September and since I've had these ongoing problems they continually are giving me the stink eye - I am doing the best I can but I feel it is not good enough.
Thanks for letting me vent.

The surgery can wear your immune system down for sure and the fact that your body is "attacking" the surgery area, so it is very possible that you are getting a lot of colds, etc.

Hi,
I had my surgery 7-6-2004. I went back to work full time 8-16-2004. From August until Ocober I had strept throat 3 times. I never really tied it into my immune system being out of whack. I am better now though. I hope that you get to feeling better soon. Take care. Sincerely, Sunshine 48

Hi Ladies,
I thought I was going crazy. I have never been this sick in my life. After surgery my whole body is different. I don't regret the surgery, because I don't have the bleeding or pain, but I have been getting stomach aches, vomiting, colds etc. I have also been feeling out of sorts, sometimes I feel like I am screaming inside. I know this sounds crazy but I just can't put my finger on it. Something is definately different.
Thanks for letting me vent

Hello ladies,
I have to agree. Since surgery I have had problems with my teeth,
stomach flu which I never used to get, and today am home with
a cold that knocked my socks off. I usually get a cold the
end of Dec, but I never stay home.
So that would be a yes from me.
Hope you are all feeling better soon.
On the brighter side, I am feeling better on a daily basis now
and that just happend in the last two or three weeks.
I'm back to bed and a book.
Thanks for this post,
Robin
