Abdominal Bands

Please ask your doctor if an abdominal band will be ordered for you as part of your care in the hospital. My doctor ordered mine and it's a great, great thing to have even two weeks after surgery! I wear it all day and take it off for naps or at night.

I think I'll continue wearing it for several weeks because it's very comforting!

I agree with you 100%! I asked my OB/Gyn before my surgery if they would provide one (which they did) and I was so glad I did. They put mine one while I was still in the recovery room and I wore mine day and night, only taking it off for showers, for 6 weeks. I truly believe it was the best thing I could have done. My incision healed beautifully and since I am overweight it certainly helped with the "gravity" issues. I also felt more protected when I wore it.

Agreed here, too. They actually sent me home with two of them so I could have a clean one when the other one was being washed.

It actually felt GOOD to have it on. Although I've heard of other women who don't want anything at all touching the incision area.
