questions on testosterone????

I have just started on testosterone, the doctor gave me an injection about 5 days ago and I will have another at the end of this week. It has started to work, my flagging libido and sex life is slowly starting to return to me, although I have to wait for intercourse another week, my husband and I have for the first time in about 3 months touched each othere intimately( I am not sure how much detail to go into here but I am sure most will understand what I mean) this is a big thing for me, because up until this happened 2 days ago I couldnt even stand for him to touch or caress me in any way. The other positive thing is I am beginning to feel like a sexual being again, and this must be showing because my brother in law who is a real sweetie commented on how sexie I looked yesterday. So my question is this. Does the testosterone continue to increase these positive feelings, should I continue to feel sexual and desire intimacy with my husband? I also notice I have more energy, and my mind seems clearer as that another effect of this hormone? Would love to hear from anyone who has experienced similar feelings.
Take care

questions on testosterone????

Hi, Bee-
I thought I posted this, but maybe hit the wrong button. Yup, it's the testosterone! In my experience, it gave me back memory (it was so bad I couldn't remember the names of people I was working with!), concentration, energy, general well-being, and libido, including better orgasms!
I took oral Estratest, took about 4 weeks for full effects (noticed some at 3 weeks), then switched to testosterone ointment and Estrace oral, as the premarin in the Estratest gave me night sweats, mood swings, and dryness. The switch from oral to ointment was about 3 weeks.
I recently (about 6 wks ago) followed the advice of a pharmacist who told me to cut the dose of the ointment to make it last longer, and it cut the dosage way too much. It seemed like good advice, but turned out terrible for me. There is apparently a fine window in the dosage in terms of what is effective, and a got below that window. I'm now struggling in the 2nd week of trying to get back to the correct dosage. Hope it will only be another week to 10 days. Starting to see glimmers of hope, but a ways to go.
Can't wait to get back to feeling terrific, good memory, concentration, libido - the whole shebang. (Pardon the pun!)

questions on testosterone????

Yes, you will surely feel wonderful if you continue to take the test., in my opinion. It has worked wonders for me not only in the intimacy department, but just as important, in the memory one too.
It keeps me mentally alert, active and feeling great. Before I went on the test. I could not even remember the names of the flowers in my own garden, which was really frustrating. Mmmmm...couldn't even remember 'plumeria'???

oral, cream or injections and then implants

What is the difference in how the test. is delivered to your body. If my doctor says she will start me on the injections every two weeks 3 times and then if it is successful she will do an implant and that will last for 12 months and will have to stay where it is, that is why the injections first? How is the cream different or the oral?
Do they go through different parts of the body (how does the body process it)? I am seeing my doctor tomorrow and will ask her those questions too.
I do know that it is working had an erotic dream last night, fantastic, I used to have them often but havent had one for about 6 months or more.
Thanks for your replies

questions on testosterone????

Ok...I'm new to all of this. I am nearly 4 wks post op. Can I take testosterone with Climara patch? Can I purchase the natural testosterone at a natural/health food store? If so, is there a limit to how much to use?

I used to use progesterone cream before my hyst and it worked great for me. Can I also use that with the Climara?

<sigh> Hormones are so confusing!! Help!

questions on testosterone????

I was also given the testosterone injection last Thursday. I think the nurse said it was Deletestosterone? Not for sure, but, I feel absolutely nothing. No change what so ever. They said maybe 8 to 10 days to notice a difference. Has anyone else had the injection and had it take a while to see a change? I am beginning to wonder if it is going to work for me. I had a LAVH on July 18 (everything gone) and my desire for sex was really strong for about 3 months post-op and now it is just gone. Switched from the Esclim patch to injection and now Vivelle Dot. Think the injection really messed me up. Felt horrible and thats when the sex drive went bye-bye. Any response would be grately appreciated.

Hi Lola. Just to let you know you do need a presciption for testosterone. Your doctor can help you with the dosage. I take 1mg in a capsule form which I understand is a very low dose. Good luck to you.
