Should I Keep My Cervix?

Well, I can't say for sure if this is directly because my cervix was removed, but I'm 9 months post-surgery now. My TAH story is "better than textbook"--super fast recovery, changed my life, etc., with one exception: Since surgery, my orgasms are less intense and don't last as long as they used to. It could also be because of no uterine contractions--I'm really not sure. I have had no problems with incontinence, before or since surgery. It's a pretty controversial topic--you're wise to be investigating...

Should I Keep My Cervix?

Hi Finallyready, I can relate to feeling that orgasm wasn't as intense and in the early months thought that although I was happy to have had the surgery I'd made a trade-off by having less intense orgasms but 2 years post op I'm finding that orgasms are becoming more and more intense and that somehow my body is compensating for the loss of uterine contractions. I'd never deign to speak for everyone but in my experience yes, earlier on I found that I didn't feel sexually satisfied and felt that I'd never have another proper orgasm but in the last 6 months I've noticed that I have abdominal contractions during orgasm that feel very similar to orgasm before I had surgery.

The difference is that these days I actually have alot more sex than I did prior to surgery as previously constant bleeding and extreme anaemia made sex not worth it at all.

Thanks, Xaviera--that is VERY encouraging! I figured that at 9 months there wouldn't be any more changes or improvement.
