Post-op nausea

Hi,
Today is my 9th. day and I have had nausea all day. I know I did too much yesterday and I am paying for it today.
I decided to take Ibiprofen and the Vicodin which it did not help.
If it doesn't get better, I will take a phenogram.
I hope you get to feel better and get lots of rest.

Patty

Post-op nausea

Hi boriginal and welcome!

I wouldn't say that feeling nauseous is 'normal', so I wonder if you can pinpoint a reason for it. For example, narcotic pain meds can cause nausea. If you are still taking them, then try to always eat a little something when you take them. I found that even a couple of crackers would do the trick, but for me, taking them on an empty stomach would cause nausea.

Are you having regular bowel movements? If not, then this could be a cause. As the others have suggested, overdoing may be another possible cause.

If your nausea is persistent, then give your Dr. a call to describe your symptoms to be on the safe side.

Best wishes and s

Post-op nausea

I had my LAVH on monday (12/6) and still feel nauseated most of the time. Ive only been taking Urised and Tylenol ES because the Percocet really make me sick. Im in a conciderable amount of pain but would rather deal with that then nausea. I do however feel my nausea is due to the pain or maybe because my bowels arent completely working right. I am able to have bms but it seems I dont have control over them. Its hard to explain and understand. Its not that I cant control WHEN but how I have a bm. does that make sense? I feel I dont have any muscle control there yet or something. strange. anybody heard of this? Im sure that is causing some nausea. Make sure you manage your pain too!!! Amy
