Hia and morning ...

Today has been an inspiring day for me, why I hear you ask??

Well, I was prepared & organised this morning and made a nice lunch, with a little packet of soup (cup a soup) that I can make up with hot water at my desk, along with a little sandwich ... sometimes this helps me not just nipping to the canteen to get an XL sandwich, and is a minor miracle - I am normally so busy in the morning, and just of late I have definately noticed that the more hectic I get the more I eat, and the eating tends to be junk - maybe this is a turning point in my life??

Exercise will proceed as normal, with the gym and a little swim. 7days left to my skiing hols and I am really pumped up and ready ... everytime I see a photo of the snow it makes me go to the gym - infact I just have a little picture in my hand bag which reminds me to walk up the stairs and not catch the lift !

Sending s to all who need them.

BSQ I'm gutted - you are such an inspiration to all of us, your challenges ... ooo, I know that I haven't taken part in all of them BUT I do read them and you inspire me to pick up that gymbag & get out of the house and exercise - I'm sure we'll all miss you ... good look on your quest

Ann .. sometimes we get that snobbery at my gym (mainly from the 'ladies that lunch'). I have just learnt to stick my nose back up at them and smile - OK so I might look like a pig when I do it, but I get a good sense of satisfaction (and at least I don't grunt)!!

Hi all
Had a busy busy weekend, singing and baking for parties to come. Did not eat too well but didn't actually overeat, so I don't feel too too bad about it. Today the step class is on the schedule and I'm looking forward to it.

I can't believe all the changes and situations that have occurred over the weekend. I'm sending encouragement to all in need, and to those who are succeeding in their efforts.

BSQ, come back and visit us? We'll miss you greatly but I understand where you are coming from. As one who has not been OP and has strayed off topic with all sorts of little and big issues, I can see the difference in our posts over the years. But we are all getting older and we all have situations that we encounter and I personally find the camaraderie on BEST to be a huge support and one that ultimately makes me feel that in spite of all the stuff going on, there are people who understand and will give a and continue to love me anyway. But that may be your point, it's not all directly related to healthy eating and exercise and moving forward in a positive manner toward fitness and health. Various obstacles, both real and imagined, have impaired my progress and taken some of the edge off my enthusiasm. Sometimes I just want to survive. Anyway, think of us and come back to provide your beloved random Q's when you can!

There is no way I can respond to everyone on the list after being MIA for three days, so I'm just sending a big hug to everyone and will check back later. LT may be bringing home a little today, a holiday present for the dogs!

And Toni, take those stairs, they are addictive! I'm so jealous of your upcoming skiing holiday!

Have a great day,
Desk

Ah, Bobby. I will miss you so! Like Desk said, I totally understand your position. This way of support just doesn't work for everyone, no way. And you are right, I know I connect so much to my OPness that I probably do the TMI thing way too often. You are so committed to your good health & have done so well! You are an awesome inspiration, BSQ! Ok, here's my philosphy: There are the Gumby people in life & the Pokey people. The Gumbys are determined, clear-thinking, and efficient. The Pokey's on the other hand....amble along, basically good-hearted but maybe not quite so easily effective as their pals, the Gumbys. There. Life boiled down to clay cartoon figures. I can understand it in those terms.
You are Gumby, darn it, and well, I guess that would make me Pokey. Sigh. Love you, love Random Q's, love your little loose Coop(er), and hope, as Desk asked, that you will pop in to see us sometimes! You really will be so missed.

Ok, for my day....I just had green & black tea mixed and a bowl of oatmeal for breakfast. Very delicious. I have a roast that needs to be cooked so we will have that and maybe some wild rice & a salad & some quick, frozen veggie heated up.
Wil mostly be home today cleaning etc so I will do that silly thing where I just run each thing to it's place rather than making a pile to put away later. Not as time efficient but works in lots more steps.

Hope everyone has the BEST, OP Monday! Hey, with furnaces running (thank goodness) we really need to get our water! Easy to forget in this weather.
Hey ((Desk))! ((Hey Toni))! Hey to all who follow or lurk. Have a good one.

Morning all

We had tons of snow yesterday and it is very beautiful. Now I am more in the Christmas spirit. Yippeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

I got up this morning and made it to the gym OUCH. My legs are still so sore. But I guess no pain no gain. I just keep plugging along with the exercise with the hopes that I have a healthy body and heart. Food will be very OP today. It is Friday that I am worried about LOL. Oh that yearly dreaded party.

Bobby I am so sorry you feel that way. But I totally understand how you feel. You are truly amazing with your dedication to your Way of eating and exercise. Truly commendable. I will miss you. Email me when you can.

Hi to everyone else I will be back

Hello Toni, Xena, Desk and Katie! Hello to all who follow me!
s BSQ! You will be missed.

I was not as OP as I would have liked to be yesterday but will make up for it today. Drinking my water as I type and a walk on the old treadmill is next. I had a MO moment and a not so MO moment yesterday so I hope they don'r cancel each other out.
I am a big QVC fan and ordered myself a new pair of boot cut jeans a few weeks ago in a size XL. They were sooooooo tight on me then that I was going to send them back but figured I would fit into them evetually. Well, yesterday I tried them on and they fit!!!!!! Now they are stretch denim with an elastic waistband but ........
Later in the day we watched the wedding video from my DD's wedding. Now I know the camera is supposed to add 10 pounds but on certain angles I looked so fat! I can't imagine what I would have looked like last year at this time. So it was a little disheartening but it also gave me the encouragement to press on in my weight loss quest.

Off to the basement and my

Good morning, all!

After a Fri and Sat of birthday madness in the form of cake and spirits I have returned to the land of OPness. I was OP yesterday and will be today.

Food = bfast - Cracklin' Oat Bran with ff milk and a banana, lunch - tuna with cherry tomatoes and a little 2 Good mayo with a dessert of red grapes, dinner - crockpot roast with veggies.

Exercise = 8MMs, dreadmill and stuck bike - already done. For extra exercise since the roads are clear and the temps are in the balmy 30s I've chosen to walk downtown for my errands today instead of driving. Not a big town but I'll get in at least two more miles.

Xena, thanks for the water reminder - I think I need it tattooed to my forehead!
Em, on the pants!!
Katie, I'm with you on the exercise. It's got to be doing us both some kind of good!!
Toni, good job on the stairs!
and hopes for a wonderful OP Monday to everyone!

Just came back from the steps/kickbox class. Whew, getting back in shape at this age and shape is not as easy as it was last year, or was it the year before. But I shall persist. Soon it will be easy again. I asked the instructor about some of the kicks, and said it had been 30 years since I first learned them, then as I walked to my car I realized it had been more like 34 years since I first started taking Jiu Jitsu as a freshman in college. Gosh, no wonder I'm a little rusty on the moves!

A big to everyone, but I have to get back to work. Lunch will be an egg white with cheese and some fajita seasoning and a salad. And breakfast was a small bowl of sugar free oatmeal with some raisins and peanuts and cottage cheese. I made a big bowl but half of it is stored for an afternoon snack.

your victories and stick with the group, we are all headed in the same direction. At least us Pokey's are. You Gumby's are the trailblazers and we appreciate your determination.

Cool - Moving Monday 13th December 2004 Moving Monday 13th December 2004

Hi All!
Just been for a super lunch with all the girls. Our kids all attended playgroup together many, many years ago (started almost 9 years ago), and we always organise a lovely lunch, and 14 attended. It was a 3 course meal, and I am afraid to say that I did indulge, but I'd only had a slice of toast for breakfast, as I knew I was dining at 1.30pm.
Will maybe grab a small sandwich later if I have the cheek to be hungry later on
I lost a pound according to the scales this morning, unfortunately after that lunch, I have probably put it back on...boohoo! But I am trying very hard not to gain any if not lose any, so I guess for December I am not doing too bad.
Hey! I've noticed the diet books are piling in for the post-Xmas/New year diet start that happens in Jan, and peters out by mid feb....I am planning a new start for the New Year, just gotta get through Dec, its my stress month.
I have noticed, like Toni, a few bad habits of eating quick and easy junk food, I am only putting up with this until the end of the new year, then the regime of healthy, healthy, healthy can start again. Plus I'll have more time as my hours will be back to 9.30-1.30.
well, gotta rush now, its brownies night, and its party night!

Honey, I'm Home!!!

Where does the time go? I think I have been officially MIA for a week or so but it feels more like a month. Newborn kittens, work, work and more work have consumed my life and I can really feel it. Not enough sleep, lousy diet and no exercise. I keep resolving to do better but then falling backward. Prioritizing has always been an issue for me.

So enough of that and back to the game. This OP business is tough during the holidays. We have parties or get togethrs with friends every night this week but Thursday . Today I had an apple and a banana for breakfast, lunch will be a lean cuisine thai chicken and dinner remains to be seen as we are going out to dinner with friends.

I have again signed up for the Weight Watchers online points tracker. Meetings are just too hard for me to get to but I tried the online membership during my at home recovery period and found it very effective.

Hope you all have been well during my absence. Judging from all the posts there is no way I will be able to read all of the back threads. So I will just send everyone a and start fresh from here.
