Tomorrows the day - Overwhelming Sadness

I am scheduled for a TAH with both ovaries tomorrow. Plus the Dr wants to do some exploratory of some suspicious areas.

I have know for 2 month that I was going to do this. I have drove my family and coworkers nuts by getting ready and over ready. I left enough work for my substitute teacher for three classes. I have even cleaned all my closets.

I have had major surgery several times, but have never been this nervous or manic. I cry on the drop of a pin. Have any of you have overwhelming senses of doom. I rewrote my will and wrote my kids goodbye/just-in-case letters last night. I haven't got much sleep.

Am I going nuts or is it the hormones???

Hi!

I don't think you're nuts. I think you are pretty normal to me. A lot of it is hormones but it is an emotional surgery anyway. I felt a sense of doom for a little while before my surgery but I realized that it was just the fear I had of the unknown. I really didn't know what to expect afterwards. This site really helped me put things in perspective and gave me a greater understanding of what to expect.

You sound like you are ready for this and quite organized. I hope and pray that you will be able to get some rest tonight. Try to do something special for yourself...just for you.

I wish you the very best tomorrow! I will keep you in my prayers that you have a successful surgery and a very uneventful recovery! s

Sadness

I can understand how you feel. I want to have the hyster but am also pretty concerned. I also made a will and wrote letters to my girls. I think it's part of being prepared. If we're this prepared - what can happen right?

I hope you will gain some peace today and comfort. It will be over soon and you'll be on your way to the new you! Take care and come back and visit when you feel up to it.

Hi! I am going in tomorrow too. To keep from going too crazy, i have decided to not worry about what needs to be done. I am letting my family take care of almost everything. I have been more nervous and easier to upset lately though. I think mine is just nerves. Best wishes to you and a speedy recovery.
