Sciatic Nerve-Feet feel strange?

Did anyone else that had LVAH have strange feelings in their feet after the surgery. I had my surgery 10/27 and noticed the first time I got up it was like numbness or tingling or pins and needles feeling in both feet when I walk. I still have it and when I went for my 6 wk checkup I brought this up to my dr. He said this sometimes happens because of the position they put you in for surgery(I have no idea what the position is and I didn't ask) but he told me that it effects the sciatic nerve. He said if I still had this in January to let him know. I'm not sure what he can do.

Just had to ask if anyone else has experienced this and how long does it last. I'm into my 7th week post op.

Sciatic Nerve-Feet feel strange?

Hi!

I have experienced numbness and tingling in my feet from my sciatic nerve. It is no fun at all! I was diagnosed as having a herniated disk (before my surgery) that pinches my nerve and it causes my leg and foot to tingle and become numb. What finally helped mine was physical therapy and the correct medicine combination.

My doctor was concerned about my back and the surgery and took special care with me to try to keep from irritating my back. After my TVH, I had numbness in my thighs, though not as bad as before my surgery. I did mention it to my doctor and he said it was probably due to the position I was in during surgery. It did finally go away. I really don't know how long it was that way, I just realized one day that it wasn't numb anymore.

Keep your doctor posted and I will keep you in my prayers that the numbness and tingling will go away soon! s

Sciatic Nerve-Feet feel strange?

Hi,

I'm 7 weeks also.

This is a bit different from yours, but at about 2 weeks post-op I got pain under the arch of both feet, most pronounced on the left side, then a few days later tingling & kind of dull pain at the back of both legs as if the muscles were too short and stretched. I was told it could be due to sciatic also. Fortunately it went away at about week 5.

Hope you also get rid of this pain.

Take care,
