skin rash

Something new has appeared just under my swelly belly. The skin is folding over on itself .... think big belly folding over onto lower belly/pubes area..... and since I am having hot flashes and sweating quite a bit, I am getting a rash. It is above and on my healing incision. I am keeping it clean. I feel very confident that this is just a rash from sweaty damp skin touching together and not drying, but my question is...... Is it ok to put corn starch or baby powder on the skin to help keep things dry? My surgery was on the 9th, and the staples and steri-strips are off. The incision itself looks ok, except now the skin rash is starting up..... Any thoughs/advice?

Thanks....... Cam

skin rash

Hi,

Check with your doctor before putting anything on your incision, just to be on the safe side. One thing you might want to try is to take a piece of guaze and tuck it into that area. It can help keep the area dry and won't irritate your incision.

s,

Lisa
