3 week check up??

Just wondering how the 3 week princesses are doing? I am coming along slowly but surely. Still having problems with gas and bowels. My incision seems be doing fine. Not sleeping real well at night, but that is slowly getting better too. Went for a visit to my aunts, ended up laying on the couch but it was nice to get outta my own house. I know I am not up to any christmas gatherings etc yet and shopping has been Null. My DD is away for the holidays with her Dad so we will celebrate Jan 7th when she returns home. I figure I will be feeling so much better by then and be able to get some shopping done.

Hope all is going smoothly for everyone.. let me know how you are doing! It is great to compare notes and know we are all recovering normally!!

3 week check up??

Hiya. We had surgery on the same day! Mine was LAVH for fibroids and pelvic pain, still got my ovaries. I'm doing OK, bit frustrated that I can't get involved with the Christmas preparations. Had my dissolving stitches taken out last week, they wouldn't budge and my body was beginning to reject them i.e. they were a bit red. I haven't been sleeping very well either, hot flushes and night sweats, they are slowly improving as my ovaries kick in. I was on Zoladex (Lupron) for six months to shrink the beasties.

Had a bath for the first time yesterday but have been uncomfortable peeing today. I slept better though!

Hoping to go to church tomorrow for the first time. My youngest is performing in the Junior Church festival. Trouble is it is a big fellowship, 350 and they are all so caring. I'll get hugged alot!! What a blessing.

I have been out a few times. Last week to have tea and chocolate cake in Wells. Yum my appetite is still not so good, cotton wool mouth! The cathedral bells were ringing, it was beautiful. I went to buy the Christmas tree this morning with my DH and called in on some friends but ended up sleeping this afternoon. Can walk more each day. It's tempting to do more particularly since I feel so much better without the constant pain I'd been in for months!

Take care of yourself and enjoy being pampered, don't overdo it or your family will think you can do more than you actually can.

3 week check up??

HI there!

I am three weeks on Thursday. So far so good. I had a TAh to remove a big Dermoid Cyst and my Doctor said everythign looked great. I am slow but I've been out to the grocery store with my hubby and to breakfast and I went to a yule Celebration at the church this past Sunday. of course I'm not driving yet and I've had chauffers, but I'm feeling pretty good. Still not laying in myown bed yet. I sleep on the sofa becaus I can get up and down easier. I still take pain meds in the morning and at night but feel that won't be much longer. I have developed a kind of knot or bump just above my incision opn my belly and towards the right side. Not sure what that is but will ask my doctor to look at it on Thusrday. Hope everyone is doing great!!

3 week check up??

Hi everyone,
Was 3 weeks this past Monday. Things are going well. Still have soreness in the belly, but can walk much better and do more little things around the house. Been out of the house a few times but very short intervals. Bored much more than before. DH rented me "Lawrence of Arabia" to keep me busy for a while!!

Have read many books, but had to stop that for a while. Both daughters home for winter break from college and helping me out alot. Felt sad that I couldn't decorate the house the way I'd have liked for the holidays. Haven't driven yet....still too sore to take the chance. Been off my meds for about a week now.

As you all know, there is alot of time to reflect on things while recovering. This was my time to truly appreciate my beautiful husband and see in him things I've taken somewhat for granted...his patience, kindness, understanding and great love for his wife. Thank you Stephen.

Happy Holidays to you all.

Romans 8 v28

Wonderful news Christee. As Christians we are promised this by the Lord:

And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him. Romans 8 v 28

I can't begin to tell you how blessed I have been by my illness. The way it has brought my family closer, brought out a loving gentleness in my DH, shown me how much I am loved by my friends and family and above all the Lord. Now my healing is talking to non Christians who can't believe how well I look and want to know more!

Read my signature, it's so true

lots of love at Christmas

3 week check up??

I'll be three weeks post opt this coming Friday and for the most part I'm not feeling that bad. Stomach is still numb, which feels funny. I have problems with my bowels, but I drink prune juice, eat prunes and drink lots and lots of water, which helps me "go". I'm sleeping better since I can now sleep on my side because the staples are gone. The pressure that I constantly felt in my vagina is easing, although from what other posts that I've read, I should be expecting some bleeding from the dissolving of the stitches soon. I've been taking short driving trips with my DH and friends (and my little pillow for the stomach), run into a store (he pushes the cart), if I get tired in the store I find a seat and sit for a time. Staying inside the house was killing me. The weather is great (FL) and I can't help getting out there to enjoy it even in little spurts.

Hope you continue to improve day by day.

3 week check up??

Three weeks today! Time to celebrate!
I am not sure about some of you braver ladies, but 3 weeks and one day ago I was a basket case. I am soooo glad to have this behind me!

That for is the best Christmas present of all.

I couldn't have done it as pleasantly as I did without you ladies.

Thank you.
I wish you all the joy of Christmas and Hannukah and Kwanza and just plain joy in general.

Ho ho ho,
Eileen
