Herpes

Well, I have never ever had problems with cold sores. Maybe that's why it's not an issue with me now. I hope this is not a sign of things to come. I'm not on HRT yet but plan to next week when I go for my 6 wk ckup. I did have problems with chapped lips but anytime that happens it's a result of either not drinking enough water or fever which I did catch a bug 2 wk post op and ran a fever. I hope you all find something that helps.

If you have never had cold sores or herpes simplex, then you won't unless you contract the virus from someone else.

Herpes

I posted on another thread regarding this, but will list it here, in case you missed it.

My ex husband gave me herpes 25 years ago and I never had bad outbreaks, BUT I did notice that the ones I had seemed to be right around my period. The outbreaks were less frequent as the years passed. I hadn't had one for well over a year UNTIL the doc put me on hormones (it was a straight progesterone BC pill) to try to control my period. After being on them for a week, I got the worst outbreak I had ever had. Less than a dime size cluster, but I never had that many at once before. Then I got another one the next month! I have since discontinued those pills and haven't had anymore trouble. I did read somewhere that hormones can trigger herpes... are you on HRT now?
