bitter taste in mouth

Hello All,
I am nine weeks out from an abdominal hysterectomy, with one tube and ovary remaining (bad endo). I had hot flashes and night sweats that went away at about the 4 wk mark. Now all of a sudden I have this bitter taste in my mouth anytime I am not eating. I remember having the same symptom when was pregnant. I am only 34 and was hoping to avoid hormone supplements. Has anyone else had the same problem? Any Suggestions? Other than the taste, I feel better than I have in years! I am just frightened that the taste will not go away. Thank you. Cici

bitter taste in mouth

Hi,

Are you taking any medications? Bitter taste is a common side effect with some medication. I had that problem when I was on antibiotics prep-op. It finally stopped about 2 weeks after surgery.

Hope you get rid of this also.

Take care,

bitter taste in mouth

Hi Annie,
Thanks for the reply. I have not been on any medications- even before my surgery. I have also been noticing that my hair is falling out more rapidly than usual. I think this is all hormonal, and am hoping that my one remaining ovary is going to start taking over for both. My doctor did not anticipate any problems, but we shall see. I was really hoping that this would be an end- or least a break from the problems I have had . Thank you again for your note. This site has really helped. Best Wishes, Cici
