surgery monday & sore throat

Surgery is Monday at 10 am & I have been battling sore throat since 12/15. went to dr last week & he put me on zithromax for 5 days & it seemed better, then sore throat came back Sat 12/25 & besides the upset of the surgery now the worry of the sore throat. Seems a little better this evening(I think) what do I know at this point? I have had no fever at any time with this so what are my chances of them going ahead with the surgery? I just want to get it behind me.

According to my doctor, the anesthesiologist has the final word. She said that they would likely postpone it for a fever or a 'productive' cough. I was getting over a cold when I went in, and my anesthesiologist just said he would need to use a breathing tube, which might give me a bit of a sore throat (it didn't). So I would guess that as long as you're not running a fever, you'll be okay.
