Fleet enema ?

For those of you that had to do this the night before surgery, what time did you do it? Once I go will that be it or will it keep me running for awhile? Did anyone eat afterwards or just drink fluids? Sorry if these questions sound silly.

Thanks!
Janet

Fleet enema ?

I did the fleet enema before my surgery on Nov. 25th.

I did it around 7:30 p.m. or 8:00. I wasn't going to eat anymore that evening and I ate my light supper around 5:00. I ended up going a few times within an hour or so. It certainly flushed me out.

I did it at that time because I felt it was far enough after dinner, early enough before bed and late enough that I felt I didn't need to eat anymore for the rest of the evening.

Good luck with your surgery. The waiting is definitely the worst part!

Hugs,
Sarah

Fleet enema ?

Hi, Janet...Your time has finally arrived! I hope that all goes well.

I had to do 2 enemas (Fleet). One the night before (no eating or drinking after 7:00) and one in the morning. I had a 7:00 am surgery, so I did the morning one at 4:30.

Sorry to be graphic, but not a lot came out and when it came, it came all at once. After the one I did in the morning, nothing came out and it gave me terrible gas. I remember other sisters saying to give yourself an hour or two to hang out by the toilet.

Good luck! It will all be over soon.
