Burning feeling when I urinate

Hello ladies. I'm 4 1/2 weeks post op (LAVH) and find that I experience a burning feeling when I urinate. I don't seem to have any other symptoms apart from the normal tiredness, restless nights and a bit of lower back pain. It first started after I had a bath 2 weeks ago and got worse when I had another one. My doc released me to have a bath !!

Could this be a UTI? I thought you had to have a fever when experiencing one of them

Burning feeling when I urinate

Hi Sue,

Temporarily...I can suggest upping your water intake and adding cranberry juice to your diet until you can talk to your Dr. Your Dr. could prescribe something for relief, if you need it.

Best wishes,

Mary

Does sound like a UTI, and no you don't have to have a fever to have one. I have had some that I never knew I had until my urine was tested for other things.

Burning feeling when I urinate

I'm a little over 3 weeks and also have some burning sensation when I pee... but only toward the "end" of the stream .. and it quickly goes away.. I've been reading alot of sisters are having some pee problems and so it may be "normal"..

Are you going more frequently?? Up at night alot , etc?? I would try the cranberry juice, water, etc.. and if not better go to Dr. for urinalysis... If it is a UTI you want to be treated.. no sense adding extra discomfort to your already healing body!! Take care!

Sounds like an UTI to me. I am on antibiotics for it right now after my TAH. My docotr said it's common after having a catheter. Get your doctor to check it. Best wishes.
