What I love about this recovery

Hi Ladies,
Has this ever happened to you? I kept my ovaries and they are working. I will be sitting down, in the middle of a conversation, or after a shower, most times I am fine. Then all of a sudden out of the blue, BAM!! A hot flash strikes!! They seem to come on in a second and make my face and lips all hot, my heart pump, and my hands sweaty and shaky!!

Please tell me I am not the only one with ovaries that are cycling that this is happening to! It is almost as bad as waiting for a stupid period to come on, you do not want to be anywhere but home for them!!

harley_kat, you are not the only one that has experienced this. I too have them occasionally. My DR said that it may happen off and on until my ovaries "kick back in" Something about the shock from the surgery. NOthing new for me though because I would get them from time to time before the surgery. My hormones are all out of whack from my first pregnancy. Only kept the ovaries becasue of my age (25).

Hope your "power surges" come to an end soon.

yes I get hot flashes and night sweats-and I have my ovaries. My DR said since one blood supply was cut off (uterus) the other needs to "learn" to work on it's own and may take a month or so.

I have been following your threads and feel as if we are old friends - I had my TAH on 9/10 and oh boy what a great thing to read -- I am having the same experiences. I posted a few weeks ago about crazy ovaries -- I didn't think what I was experiencing was a hot flash. I guess it is. Even my lips feel hot but it is only momentary. Last night, I had the covers on and pulled the covers off all night long. My poor DH!!! What is this all about? Should we call the dr.? But who wants to start with pills, tests, etc.? I thought keeping those little almonds would prevent this from happening. At least when they are removed there is no doubts and pills. Let me know the outcome because I am in the same boat. Also, another point of reference, -- do you get hungry like PMS hunger? I've noticed, one or two weeks a month I crave chocolate like the old days!! Crazy!! Let me know Take care Donna -- P.S. ive only got one ovary left but yeah ive been getting hot flushes..lol
