Made it home

I went in Tuesday 1/9 for a TAH and 48 hours later I was headed home. I am feeling fine and wanted to stop in and say HI. I was in the OR about 1 and 1/2 hours. When they woke me up I could hardly see for a while. They said it was an effect from the anesthesia, but cleared up by time they got me to my room. I was a little groggy that evening, but mainly only if I hit my PCA for pain meds. I quit hitting the button early the next morning around 7am. Through the morning they got me unhooked from my oxygen, catheter and IV. I was able to get up and use the bathroom that afternoon. It would hurt to get up, but by time I sat back down the pain was back under control. I have taken a few percosets. I took them to be comfortable to sleep, and for the trip home. I have the love seat pulled over to the computer table so I can feed my addiction for the internet.
I have been really surprised at how well everything has gone. I have had very minimal gas and the pain has been easy to handle with little pain meds. I had the greatest nurses!!! I am glad it is over and I can get back to normal. I hope everyone has an easy experience like I did.
OH, and I got to keep my ovaries so I don't have to worry about hormone replacement.

Welcome Home!

Glad to hear you had an easy one! Me too! Just remember to take it easy and rest! I had great days one after another (got home on Sunday)and was knocked down so to speak today. I blamed it on sleeping too long last night without moving but now I'm not sure? I had a lot of gas this afternoon out of nowhere! Spent a good part of today in bed and resting.
Rest!
Warmest Wishes!

So glad to hear that all is going in the right direction for you! Take it easy, and use your pain meds as you need them. Drink plenty of fliuds and sleep as you need it. Enjoy the extra TLC! Love, Roz
