Great Family Support

I wanted to make my fellow princesses laugh....

I have the best nurses you could ever want - My mom and my fiance. They take turns taking care of me. My mom and I are very close so my fiance made a joke about putting a cot in our bedroom when my surgery (12/21) was over (she stayed at the hospital everynight & has spent the night 4 times since I have been home) because noone can take care of you like your mom. She is a massage therapist so whatever type of massage she gives me I show my fiance how to do it when it is his turn. ANYWHO>>>

My mom is not a big chef but she makes a GREAT presentation on the plate (visual artist). I am on a liquid diet and I eat toast, applesauce, hot tea, water, gatorade and grapes & cut up pieces of apples for breakfast. Well on yesterday we went for my one week check-up and when we returned my mom brought my tray to the couch with the grapes tilted out of the glass and toast buttered and cut in half (across) and every drink in a different type of colorful glass. I laughed and said what a presentation.

Well this morning it was fiance's turn and when he brought my tray to the bed, my toast was whole-on a paper plate and my apple was whole. The applesauce was in the same type of glass as my water and I just laughed to myself and said thank you. I WOULD NEVER TELL HIM ABOUT THE PRESENTATION becuase it would hurt his feelings and I would never want to appear ungreatful but I just laughed and told my mom. It was the EXACT same food but it was so different.

As I am typing this story it appears very insensitive and unappreciative (WHICH I AM NOT) but if you knew my mom you'd understand. I guess I am lonely and wanted to share with my sisters. I truly FEEL like roalty. They are calling me your HIGHNESS (because I am upstairs).

ANYWAY.... I hope everyone is being taking care of as wonderfully as I am, presentation withstanding.

That is too funny and I don't think you are being insensitive, it is too funny!
But I know what you mean about mom.
My mom stayed every night I was in the hospital for all of my surgeries, one night my grandmother stayed, all the while my DH was at home taking care of the kids..hehe
When DH and mom were both at the hosptial at the same time, I would rely on mom to help me get up and fix my pillows etc.
I think DH got upset one time, so I told him that it wasn't that I didn't love him or that I didn't want his help, it was just that there was nothing more comforting that to have mom help me out...and being a mom myself, I know I will push whatever man is in my DD life if the roles were reversed..LOL
Mom's really know how to take care of you, because they did it almost your whole life and it is very comforting to me...even when she had to wipe my butt..LOL
