Wiped Out!

I'm 3 weeks post op and drove for the first time today. Took my three kids to the local library. Was there an hour or so. Came straight home and I'm wiped out. Sore too.

Have to say if it wasn't for this board the fact of being wiped out by doing something so little this far out from surgery, would have really surprised me.

Wiped Out!

Hey Lorrie!

Yep, been there!

I am five weeks post op today and I get wiped out too! It amazes me how long this recovery really is!!

Those little trips, though, are good for you. It gets you out and if you know you can rest up when you get home, they are worth it if you take it easy!

I am told things do get better, all be it SLOWLY!

Take care!

Hugs,
Sarah

Wiped Out!

I agree that a little activity and exercise does wonders. It makes you feel connected to the world, breaks the monotony, and generally lifts your spirits. Your next assignment: stroll around a local mall.

Tired Some Days

I'm two weeks today. TAH -2O.
I, too, made a trip to the grocery store due to extreme boredom.
I felt cooped up. Then I was energetic the rest of the day. It was like it woke me up. Then I slept the whole next day and even felt exhausted trying to get my shower taken. I have read by many sisters on this site that it is important to take it day by day. Enjoy your energetic days and get lots done and enjoy your lazy days and get lots of rest. Your body will tell you!

Wiped Out!

Amen to that sister! Your body is the boss nowadays. Your puny will has no bearing on the subject at all! You will have days when you can do more than pick up clothing, maybe even jump in the car, but your body will dictate how well you perform the task! I'm 6 wks as of this Friday and I can do a whole lot more than before but I still ache and feel wiped out after a while. I am no way up to par. Grocery stores are a special bane of mine. I poop out after 20 minutes ( who knew that grocery stores were miles long?) Forget about driving there in my stick shift! I am getting wiser. Just do what you can, keep your morale up. Don't curse yourself too badly. The body is in charge. All hail to the body! It deserves it - it's been through a lot

Wiped Out!

I wiped myself out today too. We went to Wal-Mart for a little less than an hour, then had lunch, and I decided I was feeling good enough to do Sam's Club too. I just suddenly got hit with my body saying "ok, thats it, go home now!"
We came home, I laid down and was asleep in about two minutes! I have to say though, it feels good to get out, even in short trips. I am foregoing a New Years get together tomorrow night though. I'm just too tired and sore in the evenings, and I like to have my jammies on by 8pm. Little by little though, I'll get back to normal!
