Ask your doctor (and google) but I can tell you that I did the SAME thing--2 weeks to the day (I'm just over 2 weeks now) and my doctor and google both said it's *normal*. I HATE it! WHY must we do this after all that we've been through? I feel like SUCH a whiny baby but I'm sincerely tired of and upset by this. I was so smug and happy thinking that I'd NEVER have to wear a pad again and here I am.......Dear God when does this end?????

Thanks Jayne for responding so quickly. How much did you bleed if you dont' mind my asking? Did you have to go back to the doctor ? What did they tell you to do? I am not so upset that I have to have a pad - I am just a basketcase about having to go back and have more surgery if this is something bad...

Hi,
Some spotting is normal after surgery, especially as the internal sutures start dissolving. However, if you're having heavy or bright red bleeding like a period, you need to give your doctor a call, just to be on the safe side. And sit down with your feet up and rest. That may help, especially if you've been doing too much.
 s,
Lisa

I went to se my doctor a couple of days ago. She assures me that this is NORMAL but I am still soooo upset! I already hurt and now this too? I'm not on hormones (yet, that may change with time) and very emotional and the last thing I expected was this. I strongly urge you to call your doctor and ask but I'm sure you're *normal* too. I'm actually bleeding fairly heavy. I'm overweight so this may have something to do with it? I don't know--I just know NO ONE told me to expect this. Not one of the many women I know who told me it would be a life changing experience and not my doctor. I'm angry with ALL of them.
Do call your doctor though. I'm incredibly upset that I have to buy MORE pads but will do what I have to do.

Lah 2 Weeks Today Started Bleeding
Happy New Year Everyone,
I did the same thing. I am at my four week mark on January 2nd and I called the Dr. and went in to see her. She said it looked normal and to expect it for a while longer. It actually has slowed down quie a bit today so I'm hopeful I'll start the New Year off without this! I felt the same way. I actually have thoughts of finding some place where I can have an old fashioned bon fire with the left over pads and tampons! Sned it off in a blaze of glory!! :-) Hang in there.
Happy Healing,
Leeter

Lah 2 Weeks Today Started Bleeding
Hey leeter, let me know where the party is, I have a boat load of old stained undies to add to the blaze!
My surgery was 12/2, had to keep the cervix due to some adhesions that would complicate it's removal, and still have some spotting and occasional out right bleeding. I've been assured this is normal, to put my feet up and rest when it happens and most of all try not to be discouraged. Now if I could just get my raging mood swings to not be discouraged everything would be great! Those of us who didn't keep our ovaries no longer have to deal with pms but now have a new disorder- ums (ugly mood swings). As slow as my recovery seems to be, I have to admit each day does get a little easier.

UPDATE
The Doc on call told me to go to the emergency room as he was concerned I was still bleeding the same amount after 4 hours. To make the VERY long story short. I passed a blood clot while in the hopsital WAITING FOREVER to see someone and once I passed that clot, I stopped bleeding. He said it was 'stuff' from the vaginal cuff sutures and that someitmes when that happens you see some new blood. He did an internal exam with a speculum (that was fun 2 weeks after surgery) and he said all my sutures looked fine and all he could see was old dead dreid blood that was left over from surgery. I haven't bled since I passed that clot. Let's see how today goes.
He had to do this pelvic exam so I am on the gurney and he asked me to keep scooching down so that I could put my feet in the stirrups - apparently controting your body that way doesn't affect sutures so why in hell can't we bend when we need to???
