4 month anniversary & Thanks to Sisters

I want to take a minute to thank all the hosts on this board - you dedication to all of us who have had hysterectomies is invaluable. I was a constant daily visitor here before and after my surgery, but like most of us who do well, we kinda drift away though come back to visit from time to time. Thank you for your continued support of all the ladies who are in the midst of their surgeries and questions. The support from this board was invaluable to me and answered so many questions and concerns, as I know it does for thousands of others.

I celebrate my 4 month anniversary with a renewed spirit and a much less painful life. My hyst was one of the best things I ever did for myself - uneventful surgery and unlike so many others, a quick recovery. I still get a bit tired on days when I do too much, but all in all just feel good inside physically. I do have days of being "down", and figure that may be I just need a hormone adjustment (only taking estrogen). I know that I need to exercise and lose the weight I have gained the last couple of months. Right after the surgery I lost weight and was feeling good, but the last couple of months I have put weight back on - lack of exercise I'm sure. But all in all, things are going well.

For any ladies that might read this and have just had their hyster, all I can say there are many ladies that have uneventful surgeries and recover quickly with no serious problems and leave this board to get back to their normal lives. So much credit goes to those hosts that remain and write to those ladies who have problems and to those just experiencing their surgeries - again I say thank you all so much - you really don't know how much you were and are appreciated - keep up the good work.

Thank you Carol!

Hi Carol,

Thank you for your lovely post! I greatly appreciate it, and it's good to know how well you've been doing at your 4-month mark. I enjoy the ladies on this board, and remember well how elated I was to find this place when I was already 3 weeks post-op. I read the posts like crazy, especially from sisters who were about as far along as I was. It was so reassuring to know how "normal" my recovery was! (In fact, input from the sisters here is still helping me at 6 months!) I enjoy trying to give back some of that feeling, and think there is a great need for a site like this.

Again, thank you for taking the time to post this, and my best wishes to you as you continue to recover and pursue your "normal" life without the old problems!

Linda
