no ovarvies and sex? Does it really change your desire?

had a TAH on the 16th but I kept my ovarvies because I just turned 46 and have not gone through menopause. I got the pathology results last week and it showed endometrial cancer type 1 ,now I am having my ovarvies removed on Tuesday. I so far at 2 weeks post-op feel great. I don't seem to feel any different at all but I am wanting to hear from others my age who had their ovarvies removed how did it make you feel and what about sex? I worry as my husband and I really enjoy it now. My dr is not going to put me on any HRT because of cancer concerns. Thanks

Hi Sandi,

I am a little older than you and had my ovaries removed '03. I have not had any problems with libido or intimacy. I do use a vaginal cream from my dr to help with dryness.

I wish you the best on your surgery Tuesday.

My libido is just about zero. However, that doesn't mean that sex isn't great. It's just that I never look for it or desire it. Once my DH and are in the act, of course, it feels wonderful!!

no ovaries and sex? Does it really change your desire?

For me the difference is like night and day. I had my ovaries removed 11 months ago and I have had no desire for sex since. Before the TAH I had a very healthy libido and an active sex life. Now dh almost always has to initiate things, but once in the act I do enjoy it.

no ovaries and sex? Does it really change your desire?

I had a TAH in '97 and have no problems with libido. I will be 45 this year. I have to use lubricant though but other than that everything seems to be working fine. My problem is with my memory. Anyone have suggestions about that?

Hi,

I was worried about this too, but have had no problems - just the same libido as before, sex is no longer uncomfortable, and I am not dry or anything like that. I'm 39.
