1 week out of surgery, hot & cold

Monday marks one week since by surgery, I will be nuts until 8 weeks roll around. Even though I Hurt like crazy I am just not good at doing nothing. I have told myself I must be good as it is for my own well being. I usually take a small nap during the day but nights are long as I cannot sleep well. Normally have trouble & take .25 mg xanax & now that does not even help. First of all I can not get in right position in bed, then it is hot one minute, cold another. I am 60 was not on hormones & dr says if not on them before won't need them now. Question is does everyone have this hot & cold and is it hot flashes or weakness. Cannot believe sometimes talking on phone just makes me crazy hot. Is it me or does everyone experience this????? This web site has & will continue to be my saving grace. Thanks to all of you, don't know what I would do without it.

1 week out of surgery, hot & cold

I had problems with being hot then cold during the first week or so after surgery. Now I'm just cold! Kept ovaries and was having perimenopausal symptoms before surgery. My doctor said the ovaries continue to produce lower levels of estrogen even after menopause, so maybe if they took them there might be some differences in your body. I'd give it a little more time to even out a bit, but talk to your doctor, and make him/her listen to you. After all, that's what they get paid for doing!

Hope you feel better soon.

hot & cold

I had surgery 12/27. I am usually cold but wake up shortly after falling asleep very sweaty. Sleep is mostly very interupted by bladder spasms of some kind. I am hoping with time we'll even out. I'm used to being cold but not hot. I'm almost 50 and just put on the climara patch. I wonder if that is causing problems but if you're not on anything I guess that's not it. Before my hyster I read a lot on the Hormone Jungle and it seemed a lot of the successful people have been having their blood work done monthly to check their hormone levels and then getting what they need from a compounding pharmacy. Maybe if you read some articles there you will find some answers. Good luck and I hope you'll be feeling 100% soon.
