adenomyosis

I am new here. Was just told in October that I will need a hysterectomy in the next year or so. Dr. said to try for my last child. I do have adenomyosis. Still have no luck with child yet. Can adeno be a problem with getting pregnant? Plz if possible give me some info on this. I am 23 three and very devistated.

adenomyosis

My adenomyosis was diagnoses after my TAH. It explained the PAINFUL periods I had my entire reproductive life. I would never have considered a hysterectomy for my painful periods. I had 3 very easy pregnancies. I loved being pregnant--no periods for 9 months. Breast feeding will stave off periods for a time also. The periods were awful. I am sure I was anemic at some points. Very rarely is it so bad that the anemia will compromise your health. I question why you were told you would need a hysterectomy in a year or so. Get some additional opinions!

adenomyosis

I've always heard that it's the endo that can really cause infertility as it wraps around the ovary etc. This can be seen with a lap procedure.

I agree with the others...you need another opinion. Perhaps he thinks that you have a chance to concieve now better than in the future when the adenomyosis will cause you too much grief.

I was diagnosised with adenomyosis before my surgery and after the surgery it was discovered I also had endo on the ovary and uterus.

If your uterus is still in ok shape...but the ovaries are imparied, there are still other fertilization options for you to concieve. Read all you can on both adenomyosis and endo, it's really the same stuff except one is inside the uterus and one is outside. A good site I found is: www.endometriosistreatment.org

Best of luck, and try not to panic and get ahead of yourself.
Best wishes,
Maralyn
