Severe Pain After Intercourse

Hello! I am 3 months and 10 days post TAH/BHO. I have only had intercourse 3 times since.
After intercourse, I experience severe bleeding with severe abdominal pain. I have been back to see the doctor and she says everything looks good except for some granulation. She treated me with the silver nitrate and said to refrain from intercourse for 2-3 weeks.
Well 3 days from being 3 weeks I am still experiencing the same severe pain with bleeding after intercourse.
There is some discomfort during intercourse but tolerable.
It is the type of GAS PAIN in the hospital after surgery.
This pain normally lasts 1 1/2 to 2 hours. I have taken GAS-X to try and relieve the GAS/PAIN. Still doesn't make sense for the bleeding either?????????????????????????????????
I am just curious if anyone else has ever experienced this type of pain with bleeding this far out from a TAH/BHO and what could be the possible cause??
I am very disgusted with this whole thing.
I just want everything to be normal if there is such a thing??

HI Susie,

I would definitely recommend contacting your dr. I know that some of us have pain still months out from surgery. But it seems that bleeding this far out is a cause for concern.

I hope that you can get this resolved and get back to normal.

I'm sorry you're problems - I know it really stinks!! I agree with Judy you need to contact your Dr. The bleeding could be from more granulation - I had 3 silver nitrate treatments before the bleedning stopped (know on wood). I don't know about the pain but I would call the Dr if I were you!

I agree with the other ladies. There's got to be some reason why you're experiencing severe pain and bleeding like this. It doesn't just happen for fun for heaven's sake! There must be something going on in there that the doctor hasn't discovered yet.....be persistent til you get some answers.

I am so sorry you are having pain-I would see the doc, and if you don't get a good answer or relief I would get a second opinion. Pain and bleeding can be from lots of things, maybe not even related to the surgery (but could be)

I also had some bleeding after intercourse 8 weeks post-op and 3 months post-op. They checked for granulation, and that was not the problem. Never really pinpointed the problem, but it has not been an issue since 3 months.

I did have trouble with discomfort during and after intercourse up until December. I am not on any HRT, and the doctor thought my discomfort was from vaginal atrophy and extreme dryness. I went on the Femring in Dec. and two weeks later, BA DA BING!!! I finally, after 2 1/2 years, was able to make love with my husband without discomfort. The femring has given me my sex life back. It was the best Christmas present my husband and I received!

Hope you can find some relief. Keep checking with your doctor and hang in there.
