Hyster Sister Book a MUST read pre-op

Ladies,

I really recommend that you order and read the Hyster Sister book before your surgery!!!

I did not find this site until after I got home, so I just received the book. I read through it last night and REALLY wished I had read it before my surgery.

It has so much good, practical information that would have helped to ease my mind beforehand. Not to mention it is HYSTERICAL!!!!!! I would have been in a much better frame of mind if I had read this before hand.

Also a great read for spouses, caretakers, and friends.

I totally agree. I have read it several times. I also recommend the journal. I thought it would be a waste of money but I have already filled it up with pre-op questions.

I ordered the book over a year after my surgery, just to see what it was all about, and I'd like to say this:

I so wish that I had gotten the book before my surgery. I would have been so much calmer about what I was facing and what was likely in store for me during every phase of my journey. It is written in a very down-to-earth, friendly style, with input from Hystersisters who had the surgery several years ago. Just reading their words, hearing that they went through it and "lived to tell about it" is so comforting!

In learning about hysterectomies, I created a "Hyst Mini-Library" for myself. I bought a lot of books, and I believe that the Hyster Sisters Book is by far THE BEST!
