Desire is there, but....
I have to admit, its been a while since I have been to the site to see what's been going on. After my TAH, I felt so much better so quickly that I thought I was going to be fine. But as time goes on, I see issues arising that I had not been prepared for. The two biggest problems for me are SEVERE dryness & orgasms are far more difficult to achieve. They don't feel the same & are not as intense as they once were. I know I need to see a dr. It has been a year since I have been. But I need to find a new dr. & have no idea how to even begin. The process is overwhelming for me & just easier to ignore. At least it was until this past weekend when DH came to me & expressed concern. He feels like "he's not doing something right". That bothers me. He is a very caring man. The last thing I want is for him to start to question himself. When I told him "It's not you. It's me", I realized just how bad it has gotten. The more I think about it, I guess I am just a mess & cannot ignore it any longer. Anyone have any ideas?

Desire is there, but....
Hi Smileyone
Yes, do go see a doctor! There is much that can be done to help the problems you describe.
For example, I have had the vaginal dryness problem which is controlled now by using a vaginal estrogen cream. I have three addtional hormones for my other symptoms. It's a lot, that's for sure, but it helps me be more like me before surgery.
One way women find a doctor to help is by finding a compounding pharmacy. They can often make referrals to doctors knowledgeable about prescribing bio-identical hormones. If that is something that interests you, use the locator service on the http://www.iacprx.org website.
Take your husband with you to your appointment if it would help. There are some tips on how to talk to your doctor and other helpful links by clicking this link.

Desire is there, but....
Thanks for the kind words. I have done my research this morning & have an appointment with a doctor I used to go to a long time ago. We had a very good report & I am hoping that he will be able to help. I was really hoping to find a female dr. But the list was pretty limited. My appt isn't for two weeks, but that's ok because I feel good about taking this step that I have avoided for so long.

Good for you! I know it can be a difficult subject to approach. My doctor is male, too. Personally I don't care whether the doctor is male or female as the important thing is we need doctors to understand and help us.
Please let us know how you are doing.
I'm sending s with encouragement!
