Stomach Pain

hi there nvb220,
it has been 1 yr (jan 30) since my lavh, i have been in constant pain since my hyst. i know what u mean. i cant wear certain clothes (like jeans) because my swelly belly is so tender. even putting lotion on causes me to cringe. i have seen several doc's been through physical therapy, drug therapy, pain meds, surgeries, and i am going going back in a few weeks to have another surgery to remove my O's, cervix, and any endo/adhesions. my doc pretty much said that after this surgery they will have done all they can for me, and i may just have to live with the pain. of course i will keep seing doc's and getting second, third, and fourth opinions. i cant go on living with so much pain and no one should have to. i think u should see ur doc asap keep in touch and let us know how ur doing
luv and s

Stomach Pain

Had surgery a month after you and have the same tenderness. Mine is below my navel and it varies in how much it bothers me. Went to the dr's last week for final post op and he said he can't find anything wrong and he thinks that it seems to be normal, whatever that means. Since mine isn't that bad, I'm trying to ignore it and see what happens with more time. I'm beginning to wonder if the nerves didn't mend right or something. Other than that, no major discomfort unless I overdo it.

Do you think the tugging feeling you're having might be adhesions? If it bothers you, it might be a good idea to give your doctor a call.

Thanks for the insight...I am not sure if it is adhesions, I know nothing about them. I do know that I feel like something is always wrong and I am hesitant to call my doctor because he will think I am a head case...anyone ever feel like this?

Stomach Pain

Hello nvb220,

Yep. My doctor already thinks I'm a head case. I'm only three weeks out. As I have read through these threads I've found one common opinion -- find a new doctor.

I have found that my doctors ego is too big for the both of us. If I complain to him he gets on the defensive and makes up reasons why I am feeling the way I am. For the most part he blames me, but refuses to take any of the blame himself. I've learned one very important thing since I started having surgery for my "issues"... doctors are not god. We put our lives and mental well being into their hands, and they (not all of them of course) toss it around without regard to the damage they can dispense in the process.

I seem to fall into the small percentage of people that have problems post-op (not normal problems). I've known my body for 37 years, and I know when something is not right. There is NO REASON anyone should be in constant pain, not in this day and age we live in.

My next step is to find a doctor that has a uterus and ovaries (or used to) ;0)
