sudden bleeding after almost a year TVH

I am concerned that I all of a sudden am bleeding. I had everything taken out almost a year ago, no problems until today. I have been sick, a lot of coughing, however I would think that I should be fine a year after surgery. Please... ANYONE OUT THERE.... any ideas? Is this possibly normal?

I am sorry this is going on for you. It doesn't sound normal to me. Please call your dr. as soon as they open up this morning.
I hope you find answers quickly and that you get feeling better soon.

I feel like I am having a period almost. Come to think of it, I have been a little crampy and more emotional than normal. Is this possible if I had EVERYTHING taken out??? Thanks in advance!

I'm too new to know, but I agree with the other ladies.. go to your doctor.

I'm now more confused than ever. I had my uterus and cervix out... sewn up.. how on earth could I have future "periods" if that's all gone?

If you had your cervix removed, you won't have any mini periods. If a woman keeps her cervix and her ovaries (or one ovary) she may have mini periods.

sudden bleeding after almost a year TVH

Hi:

Just came back from the doctors because I was bleeding Friday night. I don't know why it didn't hit me that I can't be bleeding--there's nothing left! Anyway, I called this morning and she said to come right over. She examined me and said it could be a tear or it could be an infection. They did a culture and I should know next week. But I do know that if you had a total, you should not be bleeding. Mine only lasted one day and it looked like a period (oh how gross we have to be!) and I wasn't going to call, but my husband made me. So now we'll wait and see--I'm six months post-op. I'll let you know when I find out. Good luck!

M.E.
