Pulling sensation

I went to a mall this afternoon to do a little window shopping and a bit of walking. I was doing well, got tired easy, but not right away. All of a sudden I felt a pulling sensation inside, just below my navel. It was one strong pull. My lower body actually jerked back a few inches. It didn't really "hurt," more of a surprise. What the heck was that? Has this happened to anyone else?

Pulling sensation

Hi Kindred, It might have just been a muscle spasm. Did the pull ease off afterwards? You might have been doing more than usual and caused your internal muscles or tendons to over-react a bit.
Take it easy and remember, you are still fairly early in your recovery.
If it continues or causes you discomfort, please do ask the doctor about it.
Take care!

Pulling sensation

Hi Ladies.

I, too, have had those "mystery" pains. Especially scary when it happens and you're alone/shopping, etc.

My Dr. said as long as it doesn't persist, consider it to be part of the healing process. So much was done to our precious bodies during the surgery and there may be hundreds (literally!) of stitches insided of us. The disadvantage being that we cannot see what was done.

I guess that's where I stand on the concern. I'm 6 wks postop (LAVH-BSO) and even still I get those scary pains. Just remember that if they persist, go with your instincts. No one knows our bodies better than ourselves.

Take care

tamara
