Good News on my pathology report!
My doctor just called me to say that the pathologist didn't find any more atypical cells in my uterus. I guess the precancerous cells were all confined to a polyp that was removed last month. Needless to say, I am extremely relieved. I don't regret having the hysterectomy, because I would not have known for sure otherwise. I'm also looking forward to never again having to deal with menstruation! Between my 11-day periods, bleeding between cycles, bleeding after intercourse, cramps, anemia and PMS mood swings, I only had a few "good" days each month. I still have both ovaries, so I know I might still get a little PMS, but I'm so glad that menstruation is behind me. No more ruined vacations because I had to spend the whole week next to a toilet. I even once had to run out of my karate class in embarassment after a heavy duty M80 tampon and my kotex pad both leaked through with a sudden gush of blood. And yes, my Ghi was white... how cliche'. For so long, I've felt like my life has been ruled by my uterus. I'm finally free of it's tyrrany.
