bleeding after surgery?

Hello ladies this might be a dumb question. But do you bleed after surgery, if so how long and or does it depend on the procedure? :confuse:

Had a TAH, (read in your profile that you're having a vaginal). I had bleeding, pretty light, for about two days. Then had spotting at 6 weeks that lasted for almost 3 1/2 weeks. You'll get more answers tomorrow about this from women who have already had TVH.

First, there are no dumb questions!

I had a TVH and I didn't bleed after my surgery. I just had a couple of tiny spots on my pad the day of surgery and that was it.

Bleeding/discharge following surgery varies by person. Some ladies do and some don't. It doesn't seem to happen with any certain type of hyst. It can last up to about 6 weeks. But, again, everyone is different.

I had a TAH and didn't have a drop of blood or any discharge whatsoever afterwards. Amazing when you think about it, but there it is. Everyone's different though, so I'd suggest you have some pads on hand just in case. Maybe with a vaginal there's slightly more chance of having some bleeding, but I'm not sure.
