No periods?

I'm sitting here watching TV, ignoring commercials, but then something catches my attention. It's an ad for Kotex. It finally hit me emotionally, I'll never have another period. While that's great, I can't fathom it. I've had a period since I was 10 years old... that's 30 years. It just seems so strange.

No periods?

YES. I am so glad I am not the only one who it did not "hit". My goal in having the TAH was to rid myself of the PAIN I was in, not the periods exactly.

I got HOME from the castle, and someone said, wow, no more periods.... THEN IT HIT ME. I was just stunned. I was like.. oh yeah! Your right, no more periods, ever.

I was just so worried and concerned about the pain it just did not sink in. hehehe.

Kind of a nice surprise after the surgery huh?

No periods?

I was in a supermarket last week and was going up and down the aisles, picking up what was on my list. I was going at a good speed, getting things done!! When...as I turned the corner....

Wham...the feminine hygiene aisle! It was like a slow motion moment. Like the aisle was a million miles long!!!

I stopped, took a long look and then just smiled.

It was a good moment...

Cheers girls....

No periods?

I found myself in the same position as Hippie, I too was in the grocery store this morning, and hit the Kotex aisle and said to myself never again. I then began thinking, who can I give my supply to.

No periods?

I'll be 4 weeks post op on tuesday

I still find myself putting pads in my purse when I leave the house. I haven't so much as spotted since i came home from the hospital...but I keep thinking........ well......."what if".........

When will that "need" go away? If I look now...... there'll be one in there.....................

No periods?

I was putting some tissue in my bathroom cupboard when I saw the Costco sized 1/2 full box of Super PLUS tampons and overnight pads. It made me smile! I took them to my 18 year old daughter and told her I was passing them down to her. She seem unimpressed but I found some joy in it. I have a lot more room in my cupboard! Even when recovery gets rough I think about no Bloody clotty mess and smile. REJOICE SISTERS!!!!

No periods?

I'm only at four weeks, even though I missed my last period (and I use that term missed very loosely ) I do't know how long it's going to take before this really sinks in.

No more periods...

For me, however, my daughter (13 yrs old) started her first period during my 5th day home post-op. Can you imagine that one? I won't have any more but my daughter is going to pick-up where mom left off. Strange I think...what timing. She promptly asked me for my stash of women's stuff and she gladly ran off with them.

My poor dh thought he was going to get a break from all the women stuff...and then he got side swiped with this. He just shook his head and laughed. The men in this house just can't win....hahaha!

I am looking foward to no more periods...I have had them for what seems like forever...and imagining a life without them sure does give me the smiles...

Take care all,

No periods?

I found a new box of tampax on friday, yesterday (sunday) my neice came to visit an see how I was.
She is 18 and already been dx'ed with endo (about to try her on dupro)
Guess who got my leftovers

She was worried that she might end up going down the same route as me and wanted some girlie time to chat about it.
At least we could have a laugh about me giving her my supplies.
