prometrium

can anyone here tell me if they have had good results with prometrium 100mg pills? currently taking estrace and paxil, my dr wanted me to try the prometrium. after reading side effects(depression, etc..) it kind of scares me! wanted to see your results

I was on Prometrium 100 for about a year, trying to stop the constant bleeding (finally gave in and had an LAVH 4 weeks ago). I started gaining weight while taking it every day, so my gyn agreed to let me take it every other day. I did well on that dosage. No, I did not get depressed or have any of the other possible side effects. Hope this helps.

I used Prometrium 100mgs for about two years on a daily basis (also used an estradiol patch). The rest of the time I used either 100mgs or 200mgs for 12 days each month. Prometrium actually gave me a mild 2-hour "high" when I only used it part of the month. When I used it daily that effect stopped but I did not have any noticable side effects. Some women do not react well to progesterone but don't be afraid to try it and see what it does for you. Diana
