Pathology report questions...

HI Ladies!
I have requested my med records...I read through the reports today from some of the surgeries I have had this year.
I came across some terms I am not familiar with...since I just came from the doc...I thought maybe I would post them here...if anyone has had or knows what they might mean...that would be helpful to probably all of us!
I know we are not doctors...
-Mild Chronic Cervicitis
-Follicle Cysts
-Proliferative Endometrium within Uterus
-Serosa - unremarkable
-Ectocervix
-Cortical cysts largest with hemmorage
-Hemorrhagic corpus luteum
Blood count of 7.3.

Any words of wisdom can help more then just I ....

Thank you!

Pathology report questions...

Mild Chronic Cervicitis=inflammation of the cervix
Follicle Cysts=a vesicle in the ovary that contains an egg surrounded by covering cells.
Proliferative Endometrium within Uterus=proliferative means-a rapid production of new parts, ie--a mass of cells due to cells division...the endometrium is the mucous membrane lining the uterus.
Serosa=usually enclosing serous membrane (ie, the peritoneum)
Ectocervix=this is the lower intravaginal portion of the cervix.
Cortical cysts largest with hemmorage=cortical means that its related to or consists of cortex...hemmorhage means to bleed...cortical cysts can be present in a number of places in the body so if youre concerned you need to ask your dr exactly where this cyst was located.
Hemorrhagic corpus luteum=corpus luteum is what forms immediately after ovulation from the follicle in the ovary.
Blood count 7.3=most medical professionals consider a blood count less than 10 as being anemic...if this is the case with your dr it shows that you were slighly anemic.

pathology report

Well i just recieved my report. My final diagnosis was
1. proliferative endometrium benign
2. cystic endocervicitis
3. infarcted leiomyomata
4. unremarkable fallopin tubes
5. fibrovascular adhesions, orgainized, ovaries

Who knows what all this means? Please let me know.
Thank you very much.

I had a total hysterectomy on Dec 15th 2004. They had to take my ovaries because of damage. My doctor said i had a high tolerance for pain to deal with the mess that was inside me.
I just came back from my 6 week check. It all went well. I was released to normal but slow work.

Pathology report questions...

1. proliferative endometrium benign=proliferative means to multiply rapidly by producing new cells, tissue, etc. Endometrium is the mucous membrane that lines the uterus (this is what sheds during menstruation). Benign means that its not a danger to ones health.
2. cystic endocervicitis=Cystic means relating to a cyst. Endocervicitis is inflammation in the lining of the cervix.
3. infarcted leiomyomata=Leiomyomata is the term Dr's use for fibroids. Infarct refers to necrosis caused by the blood supply being obstructed.
4. unremarkable fallopin tubes=unremarkable means just that; routine, nothing out of the ordinary. I assume you know what fallopian tubes are.
5. fibrovascular adhesions, orgainized, ovaries=Fibrovascular means it consisted of scar tissue and blood vessels; adhesions are bands of scar tissue; organized means structured; so basically you had well formed adhesions that contained blood vessels on your ovaries.
