bladder leaks
I agree that this is something that needs to be discussed with your doctor: whether or not removing the uterus will be enough to rectify the problem all depends on why you're having stress incontinence. If it's because the enlarged uterus is putting a lot of pressure on your bladder, then the hyst may be all that's required. However, if there is something else going on, you may need additional repairs to stop the leakeage.
In my case, for a while, the removal of the uterus and the rectocele repairs were enough to stop the leakeage. However, unfortunately, 11 months later the leakeage returned with a vengence, to the point where I'm now back to wearing pads, only this time it's due to the intensity of the leakeage
In my case, the stress incontinence is due to the extreme deterioriation of my pelvic floor. The deterioration is the result of a mixture of things: carrying and delivering vaginally two very large babies; carrying around a huge fibroid that was pressing on my internal organs; and the vaginal hyst: while the rectocele repairs are holding, the pelvic floor is still very weak.
I wish you best of luck in your quest for answers and with your upcoming surgery.
