Infections?

Hi I haven't posted or been active but I surely wish I had sooner. I hope this is the right place for this, if not please redirect me. I had my surgery 2 yrs ago, everything taken out and healed pretty well with some adhesion pain still but barable. But in the last yr I notice every time I take an over the counter or new antibotic meds for something I get an infection. Feels like one without the discharge. I itch, burn and its drving me nuts. I call my family Dr and he gives me the pill for infections and I am fine. Also whenever I have sex I get sore. No infections from that but anything touching me down there my body reacts this way. Anyone else have this? It has made me not want sex or take any meds for fear of, oh no its cream, powder, pill time again to calm the itching.

Infections?

No I haven't experienced anything like that, but it sounds like to me you need to have your doc check this out especially if it hurts to have sex.

Infections?

Hi Joanna I'm so happy that you decided to join in the discussion

While I haven't experienced any of the issues you're dealing with, I only imagine how distressing this must all be I agree that you should discuss these issues with your doctor.

Are you on HRT? The pains you're having could be, in part, due to vaginal dryness.

I also remember that some of our members have had issues with recurring yeast infections since their hyst. Hopefully, they'll be around soon to share some insight.

Of course, there could also be some other issues going on, hence the need to see your doctor.

Sending lots of s your way. Please do keep us posted.

Infections?

Hi!

I can definitely relate to the burn and itch. If I have to take an antibiotic, I pick up some Monistat at the same time. Never Fails!

In the summer, I was having such a problem that I went to wearing all cotton panties (which I hate). It did help considerably.

You might want to ask about some type of estrogen cream. From what I have read on the forums, a lot of women have tried it with success. I have been prescribed the Premarin cream because I have been having abnormal paps. Since I had cervical cancer, I really haven't wanted to try it. I am trying the Replens, hopefully it will help.

Take care!

I wonder if you have vaginal dryness? I always feel like a have a yeast infection except that I don't. I itch and burn and it even hurts to walk. I'm not having any sex but I'm sure it wouldn't feel very good! The best way I can describe the way I feel is like a baby with diaper rash. At first I tried the many anti-yeast meds on the market and finally saw my Dr who did some tests and it wasn't yeast or any infection just vaginal dryness from lack of hormones. My estrogen levels are very low so I have this miserable dryness all the time. The vaginal estrogen helps a little. I hope you find out for sure what it is. Take care and feel better.
