I'm back..had a TAH 7-03..then had a BSO 11-04 SEX life??

I did fairly well after my TAH 18 months ago, but I had to have a BSO in Novemeber of 04. I can not be on hormones,, but I am wondering how you all do with Sex....I can barely type this with out crying. After the TAH I did fine...then I had to have several cautizations done due to bleeding. I recovered from that, but then I had to have a BSO because of probable cancer( thankfully, I DO NOT have cancer). But now..at 38(yesterday..) I have no drive...this is all new to me and I thought I had made it through the TAH and had a normal sex life. Now I'm feeling all alone. My husband has been so good about everything. He's just so happy I don't have cancer.
I want it to all be ok again...does it get any better???
I am 10 weeks out from my BSO....
pls help

I take a vaginal cream from my dr and it helps dryness and libido. The vaginal creams don't really get in the system like other hrt. You might ask your dr if you can have a vaginal cream.

If you do a Search at the top of the page and put in libido and do a Search in No-Hormone forum it will pull up threads on this subject so you can see what others have had to say about libido and no hrt.

You are also welcome to post in the No-Hormone forum for some input from others.

I hope you can find something that will help you.

no libido

I had everything removed last June. My libido went out the window. Age has nothing to do with it-I miss my former sex drive also-but I miss the good sexual responses more.

I am trying testoserone cream and have noticed a small difference-an improvement. Plus it is getting better slowly month by month. I can't explain that, it just is.

I would also really encourage you to look into the alternatives to oral HRT, you may have other options that will help. Check out the Hormone Jungle-the Desert Oasis and the Jungle and see what others have done in your situation.

I too am very glad to hear that you are cancer free now! I bet your DH is very happy about that.

I have read on here that some get their libido back up to a year and a half after surgery-and some don't ever. So patience is a good thing to have right now!
