Calling All 3 Monthers! Help

HI Everyone
I am coming up to 3 months post op and wondering how everyone is getting on at the same stage after op. Doing plenty of walking and pelvic floor exercises but today tried to do some skipping - it was sheer agony. Only managed three turns of the rope. Hows it going for others - do any sisters who had op 6 or 7 months ago have problems at 3 months, but now OK. Would love your feedback.
Best wishes
Rita

Calling All 3 Monthers! Help

Hi
I am into my 14th week and really only starting to feel my old self - I am able to do my ordinary things now like vacuuming and even used the broom on the bathroom today doing the bath and one wall and felt fine
As far as exercise i do lots of pelvic floor and some walking but wouldn't even contemplate skippin g until i can cross the road quickly!
Things for me seem to be improving on a daily basis and then my energy levels seem to deplete mid afternoon so my energy is at its best before lunch
Am a taxi driver so although doc said to start back part time on Tuesday of this week when i saw him - until i can manage luggage i will just take it easy till i know i can do it like at the momnent can only manage half basket of washing
ok take care and it will come back just be patient.

glad you are increasing your activities

It's good to hear that you are wanting to increase your activity. At 3 months post op I was training for a little fun triathalon, but jogging really bothered me-it just hurt to slam down over and over with my feet on the treadmill. I could do the cross trainer, swim, bike, do strength training, but jogging just hurt.

I still don't like to jog, but at 7+ months, I can do anything without that discomfort. I noticed a big turnaround at 4+ months-and feel pretty normal now-just a little pulling-tugging sensation when I stand up really straight or bend backwards a little.

Try the cross trainer instead of skipping-it is more low impact. Actually I stay away from any high impact stuff-due to a bad back and as I get older-my knees pay the price too!

Calling All 3 Monthers! Help

Hi ladies

Thanks for your messages and advice. I most certainly will not try skipping again in any hurry! What a fool am I!

I am hoping for a magical turnround around the 4 month mark and meanwhile I will certainly give the cross trainer a go - I know every bit helps - it just seems like a long haul. Also when I read other messages about how well people are at 8 weeks and how much exercise they are doing and that life is back to normal - I guess I just freaked and thought something was wrong. Don't know what I would have done without all you ladies - thanks again

Hope you all keep doing well
Best wishes
Rita PS I know what you mean about energy levels - I have never had to take naps since being a baby - but I have had to since my op!
