Is there a Right Balance of Hormones???

Has your DR tried raising your dosage of bi-est? The hot flashes and high blood pressure can be caused by too little estrogen.

Why were you scared to try the Femring? Some ladies do very well on it.

I hope you are keeping a journal... write down the date, which vitamins, supplements, HRT's and other meds you're on, and what symptoms you have. This can help you figure out what to try next, and is also useful when you're talking with your DR about your symptoms.

Hang in there! Sometimes it takes a long time to find, but you should be able to find an HRT or combination of HRT's that help you feel like yourself.

Is there a Right Balance of Hormones???

HI Blondied

I am sorry you are having a hard time right now finding a balance. I'm sure it can be frustrating when you feel like nothing will work.

I am using bi-est and wanted to mention that sometimes even changing the percentage of estradiol to estriol works well.

I was using bi-est with 80%estriol and 20% estradiol. I was having symptoms of low estrogen (hot flashes etc: ) and my pharmacist recommended going to a different ratio of 60% estriol and 40% estradiol. It worked great.

Estriol is the weakest estrogen, so adding more estradiol might make a difference with the hot flashes.

It might be worth a try since your doctor is recommending staying on the bi-est.

Hang in there, and I'm hoping you find something that works soon.

Is there a Right Balance of Hormones???

Hi Tex,

I did the same, quit smoking 2 wks before hyst. Have you gained alot of weight? Are you an any HRT? It is hard to know if the weight gain is caused from menopause, HRT, or because we no longer smoke.

Is there a Right Balance of Hormones???

Thank You to all that replied..Yes they have adjusted my doseage a few times they all seem to work for awhile and then back to square one again,,,I am currently on Biest 0.75 mg and Progesterone 30 mg... yes i had my thyroid checked and they said it was normal..However my cholestrol is now high,,,,,I am sure from the weight gain..I am really considering statring to smoke again to de stress and hopfully lose a few LBs..I have been afraid of the Fermring because i read where the first day is usually when the most is absorbed and i cant handle that spike in B/P if Estrogen caused that,,,,Maybe it is the b/p meds that i take that causes some of the hot flashes,,,,,I am so glad you all are here to listen to me...And i am always here to listen....

Thanks
