I went to the gyne.

He feels that the cyst (complex) is to small to worry about and he thinks the blood that is there could be just a clot??? not sure what he means from that. He thinks it might be adhesions. How is this looked after i was wondering? He is doing a laproscope next tuesday to take a look. If it is the ovary he will remove but not at that time, but in the near future, he says it could be acute appendicitis and if it is they would remove it that day. He also thinks it might be from my hernia repair in June which he said could be fixed if the surgeon that did it was available that day. So needless to say i am confused. He did an internal and said he couldn't feel anything but there was pain when he was examining me. Any one been through similar problems.

First, I am sorry that you are having pain issues, but am glad you are being believed and getting IMO appropriate care. I agree with ((Mei)), at this point a scope is a step in the right direction.

If the cyst is small, perhaps he can remove it without removing the ovary? That would be good. Also, I wonder if you have an endometrioma in your ovary? Endodmetriomas, also called chocolate cysts, are blood filled.

How did that happen? One theory is that endometrial cells might have at one time implanted on the surface of your ovary and then the ovary in attempt to fight what it perceived as an invaded, walled up the implant inside. Then, if the implant continues to grow inside that scar tissue, you get a chocolate cyst (endometrioma) within your ovary.

My endo specialist suspects a rather large or several small endometriomas on my left ovary, so I read up on it.

Hope this information helps!

Hello Michelle ((Shel35)):

Great name, isn't it? I was 35 at the time I picked my user name ...what about you?

I had my adhesions removed thru 3 small incisions during a laparoscopy. I had the naval incison for the scope, an incision at my pubic bone and then one on either side between the naval and pubic bone. I was back to work in a week.

hi michelle, i to have to agree it is a great name lol, I was also 35 when I came to this sight, Shel35.

Did you have a lot of pain with the adhesions, I don't have a lot of pain but i have pain, on and off usually for a few days 5-7 especially in the groin on the right and in the back. And the rest of the time it depends on what position, or movement or even if i did alot of stuff throughout the day. I am also bloated mostly of the right (it is bigger then the left) It gets worse when i eat even if it s just a little. Do you have your ovaries still.

Shel35:

Yes, I have my ovaries still and my pain is cyclical and just confirmed as pain with ovulation (via ultrasound). So, I am starting back on BCPs to stop the ovulation. Time will tell if that will help or not. I'm crossing my fingers.

Turns out my left and right ovary are immobilized with scar tissue. Left is connected to bowel and vaginal cuff. Right is connected to vaginal cuff. So, when I ovulate .... OUCH! BTW, The fact that the ovaries are immobilized was found during the pelvic exam, not during the ultrasound. Scar tissue does not show up on ultrasound.

I also bloat a lot around this pain episode and have some lower back pain.

I hope your laparoscopy goes well and you get some answers and treatment options.
