Complex Hyperplasia With Atypia

I am having my hysterectomy for hyperplasia, 5 years on Tamoxifen, and breast cancer - all of which greatly increase my risk of edometrial cancer. After 2 years of endometrial biosies and ultrasounds and a D&C, we decided not to wait for worse test results and to just get it over with.

Complex Hyperplasia With Atypia

After not having a period for 10-12 months I had one last September. I felt this just wasn't right. Went to my gyn, ended up having a hysteroscopy with 1 of 4 biopsys showing complex atypia hyperplasia. Talked with him, got a second opinion, read, read and read some more on this condition. I've decided to have the hyster while I am in good health and still young (55?) I still have alot of livin to do. I go next week to make a game plan with the gyn and hopefully set a date. I'm considering a TAH.

Complex Hyperplasia With Atypia

Dear Theboss: Finally I find somebody with my same same problem, the doctor tells me I should be so happy that we found out about my problem now that we still have time not too much time though... we must do it now mine is going to be March 2nd I have had many problems ever since I had my child with a c-session, my problem was very bad menstrual periods, with vomiting, diarreah, and a lot of sweats, couldn't go to work in the mornings... anyways I thought it was time for a ck up then, this happened 22 yrs ago they put me in lupro for 6 mo. and this worked fine I still had pains but not as bad, have been in birth control pills all my life and not long ago I started spotting not too much but enough to call my attention, I went to the doctor, and the doctor told me that I had to have a D&C and this is what I came up with Complex Hyperplasia with Atypia. Same as you have, I am 52 yrs old and I feel young... don't you? so we must do this so we can have like my doctor says another 30 yrs more of life, he says once he does this I would not have any more problems. Tell me how you do after Surgery. I will do the same.

Good luck with your surgery.

Complex Hyperplasia With Atypia

Alina,

I was originally dx'd with complex hyperplasia with atypia in a biopsy done almost a year ago. I had my surgery 6 months ago - I did do four months of Megace and then a D&C which resulted in two polyps being removed that had some cancer cells.

My doctor told me that she would probably have recommened go straight to the hyster except that I was only 37 at the time and did not have children and didn't want to shut that door if at all possible.

Of course when they said the Megace had not changed anything and there were two polyps was cancer in them, I didn't see the need to keeping that door open any longer.

And in fact, I have never felt better - more energy - the problem made my normal periods awful - bleeding like crazy for two weeks each at a time and extreme anemia which just laid me out most of the time.

You'll do fine during the surgery and you will feel better once you get back on your feet. Hang in there and know that everyone on the board is praying for you!
