question about back pain...

I had increasingly bad lower back pain before and during my period. I also noticed it was worse if I were really tired and on my feet a lot. One of my fibroids was on the back side of my uterus and apparently was putting pressure on nerves leading to my lower back. In addition, my uterus was enlarged. The back pain got worse as my periods and the bleeding got worse over the last 2 1/2 years.

I have some lower back pain since the hyst, but that is from the cutting of ligaments to remove the uterus. The pain is much less significant than a couple of weeks post op and I expect it to disappear as I heal more fully.

question about back pain...

This same question hit me as I was educating myself on endometriosis. I had basically learned to live with my lower back pain. Of course, I attributed it to poor posture, weight, you name it. But then.... A Ha... I began to learn that it just might be related to the prolapsed uterus and the severe endometriosis. This tiny revalation helped me to have a great deal of peace of mind and anticipation of the surgery to come.

I'm 6 weeks post op. I don't have the back pain like I did... back pain that would land me in the emergency room at least twice a year.... I do get achy and stiff, but am sure that's just part of this recovery process.

I hope you are able to get the answers you need and goodness knows I also hope you get some relief from back pain... I know all too well how badly that feels.
