Hysterectomy after tummy tuck?

Hi, I'm new here. I have had chronic back (and joint) pain for over 5 years and the rheumatologist thinks part of the back pain problem is due to my very large retroverted uterus. I have several fibroids that got quite large during my pregnancies and really stretched out my uterus. So it looks like my best option will be to have a hysterectomy (which I am totally fine with). My question is for those ladies who had a tummy tuck done first. 1 1/2 yrs ago I had a full tt with hernia repair not knowing at the time that my large uterus would be causing problems later down the road. How was the hysterectomy recovery compared to the tt recovery? I had a very hard time with the tt recovery and was sick for weeks (although I did not have any complications). I am afraid of having another abdominal surgery and what my stomach will look and feel like afterwards. And please don't tell me I will have to have drains in again! Thanks for listening!

Hysterectomy after tummy tuck?

to Hyster Sisters, hadnlis!

A similar question was asked today by another new member! If you are certain that you will be scheduled for a hysterectomy, the Pre-Op message board is where you will post to get input from others, even if your concerns are about life after your hysterectomy. The post-op ladies are very good about helping to answer questions on the Pre-Op message board.

There are lots of good resources for you to read which will also help. Look on the left side of the Home Page for the links to Checkpoints and the Pre- and Post-Op Articles.

If you aren't sure that you will be having a hysterectomy, your questions should be posted in the forum called Hysterectomy Options and Alternatives.

Good luck whatever your decision is!
