Three Weeks Post OP - Bladder infection

My surgery was Jan 18 and this week I started having terrible burning and symptoms of Urinary Tract Infection - called the Dr yesterday and was tested - she said I have an infection and put me on anti-biotics - is this common?

Three Weeks Post OP - Bladder infection

I would say it's very common, especially if you had a catheter. I had the catheter for about 24 hours, and when I was discharged from the hospital, my doctor had prescribed a three-day course of Macrobid to hopefully stop a UTI before it had a chance to start. So far so good.

UTI's are horrible. Hope you feel better. So far I've escaped the UTI but have been stricken with the bacterial vaginosis, which quite literally "stinks." Getting better though.
