x5 pelvic ops

i hve had p.i.v.s vag hyst, vag repair, anterior and posterior repair. i have pain that feels like a sharp knife being pushed up me and twisted, while the tip just touches my left lower side, yesterday was almost constant and unrelived by medication. i had been to the hospital the day before to have my cathter out and was told to stay on site for an hr, we went to the canteen for a drink then once i had a wee we came home i was horizontal for 6hrs and can only conclude this its what made the pain so bad . so be warned. today i have only been up for 3hrs in the morning and 3 lots of 10 /15 mins which has helped alot. i can't beleive how little i can do 16 days post op.my hb was only 9 when i left hosp despite a transfusion. i am still having a moderate fresh red loss, is this going to go on for long?
has anyone else had such extensive surgery in one go?

Take it easy please, the mantra is don't hurry nature - we all are different. I have read here about some healing very quickly , compared to some others. Some have sex before 4 week, some it takes months.

the pain, listen to it, and if you have to sleep, rest - do it. I over did it in the first 2 weeks, big mistake, and then have done as needed, lost of rest since - I am about at 8 weeks, and some days, I am up a total 2-3 hours, some of that in the 15 minute spurts that you described.

Others have more knowledge about bodily functions post-op. . . I can tell you it just takes a while for anesthesis to wear out of our bodies, and our bladder and bowels have had a major shock - after all they were shut down - they ahve to start up and learn to do their job.

It is o.k. to rest. After years of my being in high gear. . . .this has really taught me how to slow down - after my initial stubborn over doing it in the first two weeks.

Others, I am certain, will share and help you with support.
